Recreation in Red Bluff is heavily centered on equestrian activities, rodeo events, and outdoor fun. The equestrian event center at Red Bluff Round-Up is a spot for Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association events, horse races, and concerts. This is also a spot for equestrian sales and events throughout the year. Along the Sacramento River, the Chinese Rapids are a particularly difficult stretch of river rapids located in Red Bluff. This is an excellent spot for experienced kayakers and canoeists looking for a challenge. Throughout the year, Red Bluff plays host to nationally recognized fishing tournaments held at Shasta Lake and Lake Almanor.

Each spring, Tehama District Fairgrounds hosts the Tehama District Fair. This yearly event features rodeos, livestock shows, food vendors, carnival games, and live music and is a great way for residents to gather together and socialize. The Red Bluff Outlaws are a premier sprint kart racing series that has been hosted at the Tehama Fairgrounds for more than 33 years.
